01 AN INTEGRATIVE THERAPIST WITH A BROAD BACKGROUND
I am Julie Best-Clark, an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. My work has developed across private practice, the NHS and domestic-abuse charities. I completed an intensive six-year Master’s degree course in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling in London and have 30 years’ experience of therapeutic work.
My aim is to offer an empathic, supportive, safe and confidential relationship in which you can explore what is happening for you at a pace that respects your needs and wishes.
02 My journey into therapy
My first introduction to the healing arts was naturopathy & homeopathy while I was living in Australia. This qualification and experience led to a strong interest in working with people’s mental health.
Clients often told me that they valued coming to see me because I listened and helped them through different issues. Their feedback prompted me to train as a psychotherapist and counsellor, to deepen my understanding of people as individuals and of the experiences that can shape our paths.
I am practising as a an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor practicing across Devon and Cornwall, bringing over 18 years of holistic wellbeing experience to my work. Alongside clinical therapy practice, my background includes extensive former training in homeopathy and naturopathy, working with both adults and children, as well as complementary practices like Reiki. Today, I integrates this rich history into a grounded, client-centred approach, offering dedicated psychotherapy while honouring a whole-person perspective on mental and emotional wellbeing.
I have 30 years of therapeutic work across private practice, the NHS and domestic-abuse charities, with people of all age groups and a wide range of concerns.
I volunteered with women’s aid, worked in a women’s centre as a crisis manager, later supervised a children’s clinic for children affected by domestic abuse and managed a children’s therapy centre. This work has reinforced the value of being heard, having a safe space to reflect and considering how a different perspective may help someone understand their experience.
